Gwinnett’s SPLOST-funded Road Improvement Program is a part of MA’s longest municipal relationship spanning 26 years and more than 800 projects.
MA designed the reconstruction of more than 6 miles of interstate highway on I-16 and I-75 through downtown Macon, Georgia and reconstruction of four interchanges.
MA was tasked with the interchange modification report, concept development, environmental document and preliminary design for this innovative diamond interchange.

The Northwest Corridor Express Lanes Project is a Georgia Department of Transportation project to add approximately 30 miles of managed lanes along I-75 and I-575 north of Atlanta. The project is GDOT’s first project utilizing the Public Private Partnership delivery method.
The MA team provided staff under the supervision of Georgia Department of Transportation to perform construction engineering and inspection services for the Metro Atlanta District under a 3 plus year contract that included bridges, interchanges and other roadway improvements.

MA provided complete Construction Engineering & Inspection (CEI) services to Division 3 under the supervision of Georgia Department of Transportation. The project entailed widening additional lanes, several bridges, road extensions and construction of a four-lane, divided east-west connector.
This on-call Construction Engineering & Inspection (CEI) staffing support contract provided staff under the supervision of Georgia Department of Transportation to complete CEI services for the eastern portion of Division 2 in the Augusta, GA area.
The style of the new bridge was determined by a town hall meeting vote that received unanimous support and provided a similar appearance to the old bridge. The main span is 143 feet long. The maintenance-free weathering steel construction has a rustic appearance, reminiscent of the beloved old bridge.
Widening of SR 20 (Buford Highway) from Samples to the Chattahoochee River, Forsyth & Gwinnett Counties, Georgia
MA staff worked closely with Forsyth & Gwinnett Counties’ Engineering staff throughout three projects with three different GDOT PI numbers. All were done under one environmental document.
MA prepared design plans to upgrade the traffic signal, modify the channelized islands, add turn lanes and extend turn lane storage.
MA’s landscape architects, engineers, and environmental specialists, worked with Cobb County to develop improved access to a unique natural environment in the Cumberland Community Improvement District (CID).
MA produced a comprehensive traffic and transportation study for the Atlantic Station Development and then produced the design concept for I-75 / I-85 access with additional connections to Peachtree Street and Northside Drive.
The new diamond-shaped interchange at I-95 includes two realigned side roads and provides additional I-95 access for future, planned development and mandated emergency FEMA evacuations.
MA designed and provided construction services for a major modification to the I-85 / SR 316 interchange in Gwinnett County, Georgia.
The project widened US 41 / SR 3, an urban principal arterial, from Northgate Drive in Fulton, County to Paces Mill Road in Cobb County.
West Cobb Loop (Parkway) is a 4-lane urban arterial in western Cobb County that opened to traffic in December 2000.
Construction of this project consisted of a new interchange on I-75, widening of Riverwood Parkway, relocation of Akers Mill Road Bridge over I-75.
MA designed and provided construction services for a major modification to the I-85 / SR 316 interchange in Gwinnett County.
